NOT MANDATORY

The hardest market: no mandate, students expect $23.35/hour, and Forage already offers free brand-name virtual experience. The one honest wedge is ABET Criterion 5 evidence sold to departments, not students.

Work-experience rules: No national mandate at all. ABET Criterion 5 requires a culminating major design experience — not an internship. Programmes satisfy experiential expectations at their own discretion.

Accreditation

  • ABET
Engineering Accreditation Commission and Computing Accreditation Commission. Criterion 3 student outcomes and Criterion 5 curriculum.
  • AACSB
    Business programme accreditation.
  • Regional accreditors
MSCHE, SACSCOC, HLC, NECHE, NWCCU, WSCUC — institutional accreditation.
  • US Department of Education
Recognises accreditors; ties compliance to federal financial aid.

Engineers Clinic is not accredited by these bodies. Our projects produce outcome-mapped evidence that supports an institution's own accreditation reporting.

ABET Student Outcomes (SO1–SO7)

Each project below is tagged with the outcomes it evidences for ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission.

SO1Identify, formulate and solve complex problems
